Collection: Cosmetics and cosmeceuticals

Cosmeceuticals is a word consisting of cosm(ethics) + (pharma)ceutiks. This group of cosmetics occupies an intermediate position between ordinary cosmetics and therapeutic agents for external use. Cosmeceuticals penetrate deeper than cosmetic creams. It stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the deep layers of the skin, and the formation of new cells.

HOW DOES COSME CEUTICS DIFFER FROM COSMETICS?

Cosmetic products, like cosmoceuticals, are designed to effectively care for your skin. However, the effect provided by cosmetic products is short-lived. Cosmetics may contain active ingredients, but their concentration will be low. Cosmetic products are widely available and can be purchased in supermarkets and cosmetic stores. Cosmeceutical products differ in that they contain much more active ingredients and their concentration is higher. This stronger formula can cause visible changes in the skin, so cosmeceutical products provide long-lasting results. Often these products are used only by professional skin care specialists performing aesthetic and therapeutic procedures.

After examining the differences between cosmetics and cosmoceuticals, we can conclude that:

  •  Cosmetics change the appearance of the skin, and cosmeceuticals change its function. Thanks to cosmetics, the skin looks good (brighter, smoother), but only for a certain time. Cosmeceutical preparations affect the work of skin cells. They reduce wrinkles, correct skin color.
  •  Cosmetic products affect only the upper layers of the skin, while cosmeceutical products penetrate the skin. Components with a large molecular structure are mostly used in cosmetics. They affect only the upper layers of the skin, which are made up of dead cells. Meanwhile, cosmeceutical products use components with smaller molecular structures and better penetration into the skin. This is why they can penetrate the skin deep enough to penetrate living cells and affect their functioning.

ESSENTIAL INGREDIENTS OF COSMETIC PRODUCTS:
